Environmentally friendly materials - introducing GreenFR But beyond day-to-day operations, what else are we doing to supply you with the best possible quality sustainable fabrics? One of the major changes we recently introduced was a GreenFR coating which is now available on a wide range of fabrics. This is a cutting-edge, halogen-free flame-retardent fabric that is accredited and meets the strict requirements of ZDHC in terms of wastewater and the environment. It has revolutionised the way we treat fabrics, giving our customers the opportunity to meet strict commercial safety requirements while minimising the impact on the environment. |
Committed to using eco-friendly materials.
With all of these positive, sustainable changes being implemented, what more could be in the pipeline for Cristina Marrone and the team? Well, it doesn’t stop there. We’re making an impact on the shop floor by making important environmental decisions in the production process. As a starting point the poles that hold our fabrics are all made from recycled materials, a simple change that we introduced to reduce the demand for new materials. And, with packaging in mind, we’re ensuring that our packaging is as sustainable as the brilliant new fabrics we’re introducing this year. So, we use recycled plastic for our bags which means that our commitment to sustainability is clear from the moment you receive your order. As part of this sustainable packaging commitment, we ensure that our range of tote bags are made from canvas ensuring both a durable and sustainable alternative to traditional materials. It doesn’t stop when our fabrics leave the warehouse either; we’ve invested in a fleet of electric vans to ensure responsible transportation that has sustainability in mind. This not only reduces our carbon footprint but it’s helping us to set a new standard for environmentally conscious logistics in the fabric industry. |
